The RHDL story began in 1989, sparked by a simple idea . Our very own Mike Pepper had been playing in a league in Brampton, Ontario, and during a long, snowy drive home, he realized something important, Georgetown needed a dart league of its own. In the early days, the teams Mike put together played against Brampton teams. But soon, Mike and Alex Tough decided it was time to make things official and create a league built by Georgetown players, for Georgetown players. Mike spent weeks visiting local establishments, connecting with dart players, gathering interest, and ironing out every detail needed to bring the league to life. Over the years, the RHDL continued to grow thanks to the dedication of many previous executive members. At its peak, the league proudly supported on average  8–12 teams for many seasons. In 2020, the league faced an unexpected setback. Circumstances that caused a significant regression, leaving only five teams. It was a difficult time that affected every member and was heartbreaking for many who had devoted years to the league. But the story didn’t end there. Most of our current executive team took the initiative to rebuild what had been lost. Our current President, Adam Da Ponte, dedicated countless hours posting across social media, visiting local establishments, and even printing and hanging flyers to bring players back. Through hard work and a shared love of the game, they rebuilt the league into something bigger and better than ever imagined. Today, the RHDL is home to 23 teams, over 220 members, playing across 9 different establishments throughout Halton Hills, and continues to grow as a proud community built on passion, resilience, and camaraderie.
